Jan.7 Thursday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. The Bullied, The Bully & the Bystander
Led by Suzanne Brians, Sr. Lecturer at UT Tyler, Licensed Professional Counselor                                Based on the work of Barbara Coloroso, this class will give parents, caregivers and educators the tools to break the cycle of violence.  To be held at Parent Services Center, 4411 Old Bullard Rd., Ste. 602.  No fee.
Jan.12 Tuesday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. Money Matters
Led by Glyndel Corzine, Certified Consumer Credit Counselor                                          Participants will discuss money management, budgeting and the importance of establishing a savings account to help cover all expenses. Jan.21 Thursday, 6:00 7:30 p.m. Child Abuse: How Big is the Problem? What Can We Do?
Led by Jason Isham, MS, LMFT                                                                                               An An interactive and informative workshop on the dynamics of child abuse and what can be done to positively impact children in our community. Feb.4 Thursday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. Effective Discipline
Led by Ron Roberts, MS, PC                                                                                           Ten ways to effectively discipline toddlers and the average school age child. Tips on managing teens (including emotionally disturbed youth) will also be discussed. To be held at Parent Services Center, 4411 Old Bullard Rd., Ste. 602. No fee.*
Feb.9 Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Increasing the Young Child's Communication Skills
Led by Suzanne Krause, MA, CCC, Speech-Language Pathologist
Children develop the ability to communicate by achieving specific milestones which lay the foundation for effective speech and language skills.  Examples of these milestones and how parents/caregivers can facilitate the process will be provided. Feb.16 Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Sex Myth Information
Led by Bobbie Burks, MA, LPC

Led by Suzanne Brians, Sr. Lecturer at UT Tyler, Licensed Professional Counselor

Feb. 25 Thursday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. Reactive Attachment Disorder
Led by Ron Roberts, MS, PC                                                                                         This is a brief course in understanding a complex behavioral and social disorder affecting the emotional, physical, and social development of children.  Caregivers of neglected, traumatized or institutionalized children will find this workshop of special interest. Mar. 6 Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. KidWISE: Common Sense  for Parenting in Today's World
Led by Paula Statman, MSSW, LCW
This 2010 Parenting Conference will present tools for promoting healthy families and safe kids. She focuses on how to help your children make a safe passage through childhood and adolescence. Led by Suzanne Brians, Sr. Lecturer at UT Tyler, Licensed Professional Counselor                Information will be presented on the effects of divorce on children, single parenting and blended families.  Issues facing these families and how to take care of yourself and your kids will be examined. Mar.23 Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. SIDS/Shaken Baby Syndrome
