- Annual Parenting Conference - Speaker/Topic Change
- Paula Statman, MSSW, LCSW, will be the speaker for the Parent Services
Center annual parenting conference to be held on Saturday,
March 6, 2010, in the First Christian Church Family Life Center, 4202 South
Broadway, Tyler, Texas. The new topic and title of the conference is "KidWISE:
Common Sense Wisdom for Parenting in Today's World." Dr. Ray Levy was
previously scheduled to present the "Light Their Fire!" conference, but has
cancelled all commitments because of an illness in his family. Cost of the conference is $15 for all
participants. CEUs are available for an additional processing fee of

- Parent Services Announces New Executive Director

 Shelley
Judd began work as Parent Services Center's Executive Director on January 1.
Camille Brown, PSC Board President said, "Shelley is a strong administrator
with extensive knowledge in fundraising, public relations, management and
adult education."

Ms. Judd has over 30 years experience working to strengthen the families of
our community. She has held multiple positions with the Texas
Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Care Licensing Division.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts, Sociology/Psychology with Social Work
emphasis and a Master of Science in Child Development/Family Living from
Texas Woman's University. Ms. Judd also has an extensive background of
professional and community involvement as a member of the Tyler Independent
School District At-Risk Coalition, the Advisory Board of Child Care
Management Services, the Tyler Junior College Child Development Department,
and board member and past president of the Tyler Association for the
Education of Young Children.
- Autism Support Group
- An Autism Support Group for parents of Autistic children meets every
first Tuesday night from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 4900 Kinsey Drive,
Tyler, Texas. The support group is sponsored by the ARC of Smith
County and Parent Services Center. For information or to register, call
903-595-2235. Childcare is provided.

- Program Director Sought
- Parent Services Center is seeking a half-time Program Director to manage
and expand Parent Education initiatives. Minimum bachelor's degree
required. MSW or BSW preferred. Must be willing to work flexible
